Merry Christmas to all,and to all a good night

This past week was Laci's first Christmas and boy did she have a blast. We kicked off christmas at the annual tree lighting ceremony in Yreka. It was freezing outside and Laci missed her nap so she didnt have a very good time. There were all kinds of vendors on the street selling hot cocoa and various desserts and foods.Later in the week i took Laci to go see santa for the first time. She wasn't to sure about him and prefered to play with his dog then pay attention to him. She did however, try to yank off him beard a few times and succeeded once.

We spent christmas eve with jimmy's parents at their house. We did more of a finger food brunch and everyone brought various trays of finger foods. We spent the afternoon talking and opening presents. All of the adults on the Franklin side of our family each drew a kids name out of a hat and that was our person to buy for. Aunt Darci drew Laci's name. Laci got all kinds of goodies from Aunt Darci. She got; an ACDC onesie, a purple shirt, some monkey pj's, a few pairs of pants, a winnie the pooh musical top, and a babies first ornament. (pics to come as i dont have my camera back from my in-laws) Laci got a stocking from her grandma and grandpa franklin with lots of fun books and other things.
Laci awoke christmas morning to see that santa had filled her stocking with goodies and brought her a new toy. She found some puffs, and a musical giraffe. As her main toy santa/mommy and daddy got her a bounce and spin turtle. She loves to make music on the handle. (sorry pictures are off my phone) Its a little tall but she loves it.
Later christmas morning we went to my mom and dads and my grandparents house. Laci got a bunch of new clothes from Noni and grandpa. She just mainly likes to admire the tage to make sure they will fit.
Laci also got the phone of her dreams. She loves to eat the paper.
More opening. We then ventured to gg-ma and gg-pa's house. We then enjoyed the best dinner ever and my personal favorite, ham. We spent the evening playing apples to apples and watching Laci play with her toys.

Reno!!!

This past weekend we went to Reno with my grandparents. We took Laci with us and we left Friday afternoon. We drove to Reno and arrived around 2p. We had tickets to see Kate Voegele at the Grand Sierra Resort and so as soon as we arrived in Reno my grandparents went to gamble at Atlantis (where we were staying) and we drove to The G.S.R to get in line for the concert. We stood in line from 3pm til 7:15pm when we got let into the theater. After we got into the theater we stood in front of the stage til approx 8pm when Kevin Hammond went on stage as her opening act. He was AWESOME!! I had no clue who he was until that night but he was amazing. I recommend everyone to check him out. After he left at approx 8:30pm we stood there for an hour waiting for Kate. It was a little annoying but well worth it. From the time Kate took the stage until the end it was AMAZING. The set list was a little short but she doesnt make it. After the concert ended we had backstage passes so we got to go meet her and talk to her a little bit, she was so nice!! We told her we had driven 4.5hrs to get there and stood in line for 5 hours to see her, all with our 7.5 month old baby, she said we were super heros!!! After the meet and greet we went back to the hotel to get Laci from my grandparents and we went to bed since it was midnight. On Saturday we went to circus circus and played all of the arcade and circus style games. Jimmy gambled a little bit and won $230. We had a really good time. After that we went back to the hotel and took Laci swimming in the pool, she had a blast kicking and splashing in the water. After that Jimmy and my grandpa went to gamble a little bit and I stayed upstairs in the room and looked for a place to eat. Jimmy won another $100 during that and decided he was finished. We got ready and went to pizza (amazing) and then went to the Disney Princesses on Ice show. We had really good seats and it was so fun. Laci loved watching them skate with all of the lights and music, and she sat through 2.5 hours of it with no problems. On Sunday we got up and went to breakfast and then decided to hit the road. We went to Trader Joe's to get some strawberry Australian licorice, and then we went to the huge Cabela's. It was so big and had hundreds of stuffed animals. It was so cool and Laci really enjoyed watching the fish in the aquarium. After that we went the rest of the way home. We are all so tired but it was so worth it and we cant wait to go back again!!

Halloween 2009

This year was Laci's first Halloween and we hosted a pumpkin carving party to celebrate. We had my grandparents and parents meet at our house at around 12 to get everything started. Each part of the family had their own pumpkin with several designs to pick from. I had gotten up early that morning to make 2 large stews for everyone and we also had various treats. Every couple got their own pumpkin and my brother got his own. After we decorated pumpkins we just sat around and chatted and ate. My mom was trying to teach Laci to crawl and all she wanted to do was roll over. She has been getting into a lot of stuff lately because she rolls over to everything she can get her hands on. After we all ate we put Laci's halloween costume on. She wasnt sure what to think at first ans she kept trying to pull the ears off. She ended up getting used to it pretty quickly and had a great time outside while we took pictures of her. We took her around town to a few of our friends' houses but she slept through 90% of it.

The Past Year

I havent updated this in a very long time so people are getting angry with me. A lot has happened in the past year. Jimmy and I got married on September 27, 2008 at the Little Shasta Church. For our honeymoon we took a cruise to Mexico and Southern California. We were gone for almost 2 weeks and it was a blast. More importantly however, I gave birth to our daughter,Laci, on March 15,2009 at 9:32am via c-section. It has been 7.5 months since I gave birth to Laci and our lives have been insane and fun. Laci is happy almost all of the time and she loves to play. She has been sitting up by herself for almost 3 months now and she loves fruits and veggies. She is 16.2 lbs and 26.5in long. She babbles a ton and says mama, dada, and hi fairly frequently now. Below are pictures of Laci about every month or so (just getting everyone caught up). A day after she was born. About a month old. Laci's first Easter Laci at about 8 weeks old Laci's 3 month pictures Laci at about 5 months Laci at about 6 months Laci's 6 month pictures I am going to try to update this with new information and pictures every week or so, so check back for new posts!!!
